Color Run Planned for September 14, 2019 to Raise Awareness About Mental Health
The Stigma Free Task Force is planning a color run on Saturday, Sept. 14 at Zaccaria Park off Rifle Camp Road.Registration will start at 8 a.m. and the run starts at 9 a.m. There is a $10 registration fee and the first 100 paid registrants will get a free event t-shirt. Registration will open next week online.
Payment can be made the morning of the event. Kids and adults are welcome to join the fun.
What is a color run? Its a short, fun run where participants wear white or light-colored clothing and throughout the course are splattered with an assortment of powdery colors. The powders are a non-toxic combination of baking soda, cornstarch, and safe dyes. Even though it is safe, it may take a few washes to get the color completely out of your clothing; washing your outfit right away works best. Some people wear glasses or goggles to keep the color out of their eyes and use a bandana to keep it out of their mouth.
